I b THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on January 4, 1994 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers, Smith, McPeak and Torlakson NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: Supervisor Bishop RESOLUTION NO. 94/42 SUBJECT: In the Matter of Supporting the Project to Construct an Auxiliary Lane on Interstate 680 between Sycamore Valley Road and Diablo Road and Recommending that Congressman William Baker apply to the Subcommittee on Surface Transportation for Special Authorization Whereas Representative Nick J. Rahall II, Chair of the Subcommittee on Surface Transportation, has advised the Congress that as part of the legislation to designate the National Highway System, there may be an opportunity to authorize special projects; and Whereas the portion of Interstate 680 between Sycamore Valley Road and Diablo Road has experienced considerable congestion and this congestion can be alleviated by the construction of an auxiliary lane; and Whereas in 1988 the voters in Contra Costa County approved an additional sales tax to fund transportation projects and $8 million of the revenue is proposed to partially fund this project; and Whereas this project has been in the regional transportation plan for many years; NOW BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors supports this project and recommends that Congressman William Baker apply to the Subcommittee on Surface Transportation for special authorization. t hereby certify that this is a true and correct copy�11 an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date shown.
