HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 11051991 - 91-715 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, SATE OF CALIFORNIA IN THE MATTER OF ) Thanking Mrs. Winifred Haagensen for ) years of service to the community and ) proclaiming November 29, 1991 "Winifred) Haagensen Day in Contra Costa County. " RESOLUTION NO.i 91/ 715 WHEREAS, Mrs. Winifred Haagensen was born March 15, 1917 in Sidney, Montana where her father managed a general store which has been in business since 1906- and attended Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota; and WHEREAS, Win and her husband moved to Danville in 1958 and raised their three children, Robert, Diane and Charles; and WHEREAS, through the years, Win has been involved in numerous communi- ty activities including the PTA and the Republican Party and served as precinct chairman for the Town of Danville for ten years; and WRRUZEAS� she has been active withthe Del Amigo pool for many years and has been in charge of water quality and machinery for the past ten; and WHEREAS, she has been on the Board of Directors of both the Associa- tion for the Preservation of Danville Boulevard and the Boulevard of Trees Project which are both working to restore Danville Boulevard; and WHEREAS, in 1986, Win initiated the formation of the San Ramon Valley Hospice Support Group which is affiliated with Hospice of Contra Costa and not only works to raise funds for the hospice, but also educates the community as to the goals of hospice; and WHEREAS, Win' s numerous contributions to the community over the years in terms of time, energy and commitment have greatly added to the quality of life for the San Ramon Valley residents for over thirty-three years and have gone largely unrecognized. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County THANKS Mrs. Winifred Haagensen for all her efforts to enrich the lives of the residents of the San Ramon Valley; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors hereby DECLARES November 29, 1991 to be "Winifred Haagensen Day in Contra Costa County. " PASSED AND ADOPTED by unanimous vote of the Board members present on this 5th day of November, 1991.
