SUBJECT: In the Matter of Amending the ] RESOLUTION NO. 91/ 650
Pay Rates for Foster Home Care ]
Resolution 85/440 ]
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors has adopted
Resolution . 85/440 which fixed pay rates for various types of
Foster Home Care.
Foster parents who contract with the County to reserve beds for
emergency placements have not received an increase in their
monthly subsidy payment since September 1979, although rates for
other types of foster care have increased several times in that
period. It is becoming increasingly difficult to recruit and
retain Emergency Foster Homes for children who are becoming more
difficult to care for. This Resolution is to adjust the two
subsidy rates in Resolution 85/440, paragraphs 3 . ,c) , ( 2 ) and
3 . ,c) , ( 3 ) by a $25 . 00 a month .increase-effective 10-1-91 .
THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RESOLVES THAT:
1. Subsidized Emergency Foster Care rates shall be amended to
read as follows:
3 . c)
( 2) In the use of contracts providing for beds limited
to children ages 0-12 or to children ages 13-17, the
County will pay the licensed emergency foster parents
a retainer subsidy of $150 per month per bed without
regard to use plus daily rates as set forth in a)
above for actual care provided.
( 3 ) In the case of contracts providing for beds for
children in the full age range of ages 0 through 17 ,
the County will pay the licensed emergency foster
parents a retainer fee of $175 per month per bed
without regard to use plus daily rates as set forth
in a) above for actual care provided.
