HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01081991 - 91-15 C�v�e 63 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on January 8 , 1991 , by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Fanden, Schroder, McPeak, Torlakson, Fanden NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None In the Matter of Adopting Revisions ) to the Superior Court Classification ) RESOLUTION NO 91/15 and Salary Plan. ) The Superior Court Administrator and Jury Commissioner acting under authority of Rule 207 of .the California Rules of Court which empowers the Court Executive Officer to administer a court approved personnel plan, has submitted a comprehensive revision to 'existing Superior Court classification titles and accompanying salary. rates; and In submitting this comprehensive classification, staffing and salary revision, the Superior Court has noted that by its implementation, the Court will be able to better recruit ' and retain qualified staff by compensating employees equitably and fairly based upon their level of responsibility; by compensating staff competitively with like organizations, both within the County and throughout the Bay Area, and by providing a career ladder for staff; and The County Administrator has reviewed these classification and salary proposals and determined that they are organizationally appropriate and are consistent with the County's overall classification and salary structure and has recommended that they be adopted; NOW THEREFORE: The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors RESOLVES THAT: The following classification actions are adopted effective December 1, 1990 unless otherwise specified: 1. Effective July 1, 1990, reclassify person and positions #86, 87, 88 and 89 from Legal Research Assistant (2BW2) to Legal Research Attorney-Exempt (2EY2) and reallocate Legal Research Attorney-Exempt from salary schedule C4-1799 ($2882-3336) to salary schedule C5-1870 ($2946-3581) . Step placement of incumbents shall remain unchanged. Effective October 1, 1990, reallocate the class of Legal Research Attorney - Exempt to salary schedule C5-1963 ($3233-3930). Effective January 1, 1991, abandon the class of Legal Research Assistant. At the July 1, 1990 reallocation from Legal Research. Assistant to Legal Research Attorney-Exempt, anniversary dates for incumbents shall be Granger (#47217) 1/1/91, Garrison (#45668) 7/1/90, Gause (#46786) 4/1/91 and Judnick (#45480) 7/1/90. Garrison and Judnick shall receive their merit adjustments immediately preceding reallocation to the new class and then change anniversary dates to 7/1/91. In lieu of retroactive pay requiring recomputation of payroll , the Auditor-Controller is authorized to make a lump-sum payment to the affected employees in the class of Legal Research Attorney - Exempt (2EY2) for the months of July 1990 through November 1990 computed according to the established retroactive pay procedures and added to the employee's January 10, 1991 pay checks. The lump sum payment will be subject to normal tax withholding and retirement deduction requirements. 2. Retitle the class of Court Services Analyst - Superior Court (2BS3) to Superior Court Analyst (2BS4) and reallocate the class and position #81 to salary range C5-1916 ($3085-3750) . 3. Retitle the class of Superior Court Administrative Assistant (2AS2) to Superior Court Administrative Services Manager (2AS3) and reallocate the class and position #71 to salary range C5-2036 ($3478-4228) . 4. Reallocate the class of Jury Services Coordinator - Exempt (2BS2) including position #50, to salary range XB-1830 ($2696-3441) . 5. Retitle the class of Master Calendar Supervisor (2BN3) to Calendar Services Coordinator (2BN4) . 6. Establish a clerical series of four classes equivalent in respective salary ranges to the merit system Clerk - Deep Class levels as follows: Superior Court Services Clerk I (JWX3) at C5-1149 ($1433-1742) , Superior Court Services Clerk II (JWX4) at C5-1294 ($1657-2014) , Superior Court Services Clerk III (JWX5) at XB-1461 ($1867-2380) and Superior Court Services Clerk IV (JWX6) at XC-1533 ($2004-2557) . Reallocate the following positions from Intermediate Typist Clerk-Exempt (JWV3) to Superior Court Services Clerk II (JWX4) ; Nos. 61, 44, 30, 60, 45, 90, 31, 29, 28, 57, 53, 62 and 63. Reallocate the following positions from Senior Clerk - Exempt (JWX1) to Superior Court Services Clerk III (JWX5) : Nos. 70, 75 and 84. 7. Revise and retitle the class of Superior Court Legal Technician (2BT3) to Superior Court Services Clerk IV - Technician (2BT4) and reallocate class, with positions No. 82 and 83, to salary range XC-1547 ($2004-2557) . 8. Retitle class of Arbitration Program Assistant - Project (2AS1) to Chief Calendar Clerk (2AS4) . 9. Reallocate class of Secretary to the Superior Court Judges (J3T8) and position #68 from salary range C5-1626 ($2309-2806) to salary range C3-1719 ($2793-3080) . 10. Retitle the class of Assistant Superior Court Administrator (2AB2) to Assi.stant Superior Court Executive Officer/Jury Commissioner (2AB3) and reallocate the class, including position No. 36 to salary range C5-2270 ($4395-5342) . 11. Retitle class of Supervising Counsellor of Conciliation - Exempt (2BH1) to Chief - Family Court Services (2BH2) and reallocate class, including position No. 40, to salary range C5-2132 ($3829-4654). 12. Retitle class of Associate Counsellor of Conciliation - Exempt (2BS1) to Counselor, Family Court Services (2BS4) and reallocate the class, including positions No. 43, 67, 66, 52, 42 and 41 to salary range C5-1992 ($3329-4046) . 13. Establish the exempt class of Superior Court Interpreter and allocate to the exempt salary schedule at the per diem rate of $164.00.
