HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 10311989 - 89-711 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISOR OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA IN THE MATTER OF ) Rick Harmon' s retirement) as San Ramon City ) Councilman ) RESOLUTION NO. 89/711 WHEREAS, Rick Harmon was born in the city of St. Louis, Missouri and has lived in Contra Costa County since 1951; and WHEREAS, Mr. Harmon earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Police Administration from John F. Kennedy University and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California; and WHEREAS, Rick and his wife Linda who have been married for seventeen years moved to San Ramon in April of 1978, where they are raising two children, Tom and Karen, while he is serving as a career police officer for the city of Oakland; and WHEREAS, Rick Harmon dedicated his time and efforts to the San Ramon Incorporation Study Committee, subsequently elected to the San Ramon City Council on July 1, 1983, in which he served as the second Mayor; and WHEREAS, Rick was instrumental in the completion and adop- tion of the City' s General Plan and Parks and Recreation Master Plan; and WHEREAS, Rick promoted and motivated the enhancement of communication between city government and the residents of San Ramon by initiating the Community Newsletter and the City and School District cross-use of school and park facilities; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Contra Costa Board of Supervisors COMMENDS Councilman Rick Harmon for his determina- tion and persistence expanding and refining the services provided by the City of San Ramon and CONGRATULATES him on his retirement and wishes Rick and his family health and happiness in their future endeavors. PASSED AND ADOPTED by unanimous vote of the Board members present on this 31st day of October.
