HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01311989 - 89-62 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Commending ) Dr. Gary C. Chase ) On the Occasion of His Departure ) Resolution No. 89/62 As the Town of Moraga's ) First and Only Town Manager ) WHEREAS Dr. Gary Chase departed the Town of Moraga for retirement, he thought, and ended up being appointed Town , Manager of Corte Madera after one of the shortest retirements in Bay Area history; and WHEREAS Dr. Gary Chase exchanged the pines of South Lake Tahoe, where he was City Manager, for the redwoods of Moraga when he became Moraga's Town Manager in 1974; and WHEREAS Dr. Gary Chase capably ran the Town of Moraga for the first fourteen years of its incorporation; and WHEREAS Dr. Gary Chase generously enhanced the quality of life in Moraga with his innovative ideas for saving time and money and doing the most with the least personnel; and WHEREAS Dr. Gary Chase made special efforts to be accessible to the citizens of Moraga, graciously returning calls and working late hours at Town Council and other civic meetings; and WHEREAS Dr. Gary Chase managed to find time to earn his doctorate in Public Administration from Golden Gate University, where he is now an instructor. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, California, hereby COMMENDS Dr. Gary Chase as he departs Moraga for the challenges of Corte Madera, CONGRATULATES Dr. Gary Chase on the completion of his doctorate, APPLAUDS Dr. Gary Chase for his exceptional managerial talents that guided the Town of Moraga along the path of its citizens' wishes, EXTENDS to Dr. Gary Chase its best wishes for much further professional success in Corte Madera and TRULY REGRETS that such a dedicated, bright and affable Town Manager is leaving Contra Costa County. PASSED and ADOPTED on January 31, 1989, by unanimous vote of the Board members present. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution entered in the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
