" ) Many East Bay residents lack the resources to feed themselves adequately, providing an impetus for corporations, service clubs, church groups, schools, the media, and other organizations in the comrunity to organize canr:ed food drives for the hungry and the homeless. Lesher Cc7ununications, Inc. , Safeway Stares, the County Connection, and KKIS Radio, in cooperation with the Community Food Coalition of Centra Costa County, will initiate a county- wide canned hood drive from December 1 through December 20 , 1987 . The holiday food drive theme is "FRIENDS SHARE FOOD," with the goal of collecting donated food for distribution to the needy in Contra Costa County. The Community Food Coalition will coordinate the collection, sorting, and distribution of donated food during the food drive.
