HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 10301984 - 84-656 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Proclaiming November 1 ) through 8 as Historic Homes of Hercules ) RESOLUTION NO. 84/656 Week in Contra Costa County ) WHEREAS, the City of Hercules is one of California's most interesting historical cities; and WHEREAS, once targets of vandalism and destruction, 20 Victorian homes in Hercules have survived to emerge as historical landmarks and as new dwelling places for today's Bay Area families; and WHEREAS, these homes have been preserved for future generations by the Hercules Historic Associates; and WHEREAS, the original structures , complete with balustrades, porches and winding staircases, have been preserved with details such as brass and fluted glass lighting fixtures added to maintain the authentic pre-World War I style; and WHEREAS, the Historic Homes of Hercules are a tribute to the patience, determination and foresight Peter Supino, President of Aegis, and the City of Hercules; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA, CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that we do hereby proclaim November 1 through 8 as Historic Homes of Hercules Week in Contra Costa County, and encourage all residents of Contra Costa to visit the Historic Homes of Hercules. PASSED AND ADOPTED by unanimous vote of the Board present on the thirtieth day of October 1984. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
