CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on January 10, 1984 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers , Fanden, McPeak, Torlakson, Schroder NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Endorsing Formation of an East County BART- Coalition to Campaign for Rapid RESOLUTION NO. 84/13 Transit Services to the East County Area WHEREAS the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors realizes the importance of a rapid transit system for the future growth and development of all of East Contra Costa County; and WHEREAS Contra Costa County residents have shown financial support for a rapid transit system by contributing over 100 million dollars of taxpayer funds in the last two decades to the Bay Area Rapid Transit System; and WHEREAS the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors realizes the necessity for organized, active participation by all East County governments, businesses and community groups who share a common concern for rapid transit; NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED that, as recommended by - Supervisor Tom Torlakson, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors hereby joins with other East Contra Costa County organizations in an East County BART Coalition, for the purpose of a unified campaign designed to present the transit concerns of East Contra Costa County in a consistent and orderly manner.
