APPROVE the conveyance of the County-owned property to the State of California, Department of Transportation (Caltrans) pursuant to Streets and Highway Code § 960. AUTHORIZE the Chair, Board of Supervisors, to execute the Grant Deed on behalf of the County. DIRECT Real Property to deliver the Grant Deed to Caltrans for acceptance and recording. (District V) Project No. 4660-6X4258 [SCH No. 97102003] DATE: January 20, 2009 PAGE: 2 of 2 BACKGROUND AND REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS: The County acquired this real property on behalf of the CCTA for the widening of State Route 4, Railroad to Loveridge project(Project). A portion of this parcel was required for the Project and the remainder parcel is required by Caltrans for the future widening of Highway 4,which is also funded by CCTA. All highway improvements were constructed by CCTA for the State Highway as part of the Project. CCTA has directed the County to transfer the remainder parcel to Caltrans for the future widening of Highway 4. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The County would own and be liable forproperty within the State Highway 4 near the intersection ofBliss Avenue and Martin Way and.,continue to own vacant land required for a State Highway Project.
